Reo Vs. Rubic

[Standard Format] + [Race] + [Item hunter]

Rules:

The entire battle will take place in a normal format, but will start as a race which requires a total of 15 set ups that involve movement towards the goal. Once the goal has been reached, the item will be retrieved. In order to win this battle you must not only obtain the item, but you must kill your opponent with this item, there is only one item, and you are able to take the item away from your opponent, once he has obtained it.

Item:

Rage's Axe

Also known as the Diamond Unicorn, the axe can transform into a Unicorn and perform an attack once, while in unicorn form ranging from physical attacks, to his long distance diamond storm, or diamond beam attacks. While in axe form the wielder gains the strength and anger of rage, the user also gains hulk like muscle without any deterrent on one's speed. You can lose this weapon by your opponent hopping on the Unicorns back, or directly taking the axe from you at a close range... attempting to take the axe will count as an attack, while hopping on the unicorn counts as a set up. The axe and its abilities can not be altered.

Reo isn't sure how he wound up here all he knows is that he has a goal to get some sort of artefact and he has to beat his opponent in order to win, having never backed down from a challenge he decides to play along and stretches his legs warning up for the mad dash that will involve then jumping and running along the strange cubic platforms to the other end, getting there shouldn't be much of a problem for him as his spear and the dark matter held within can aid him along the way.

Looking over at Rubic he sizes up the other and doesn't see him as much of a threat...still he doesn't know what sort of powers the other has, so who knows maybe the other would be a worthy opponent after all? Crouching down by what he presumes to be the start line he gets into a sprinters position and waits for conformation they can go.

Rubic looked at Reo and then stared ahead at his goal. Jumping between platforms would be dangerous but treasure was waiting on the other side. Rubic didn't give much a care for the reason he was in the competition. The only thing he cared about was getting that axe. Let's do this!

Reo looked over at the other and grins a bit though its more of a cocky grin than anything out rightly malicious, he didn't know what sort of sign they were waiting for but the loud crackling explosion they hear, to Reo sounded like the signal to start, bursting forward he darkness around his spear formed on his back into a giant pair of black wings, jumping from one platform he glided down to the next and kept going his spear in hand in case Rubic decided to attack him.

Rubic's own grin almost mirrored Reo's as he got ready to run. He was off almost the instant the explosion happened. He jumped to the first platform while keeping an eye on Reo for any surprise attack so early into the fight. A weapon that looked like some kind of knife tied to the end of a tough fiber rope about 20ft long appeared in his hand. Rubic gave its presence only a brief aknoledgement before returning focus to the task at hand.

Reo was more focused on reaching the prize and saving his energy for a fight later, and he hoped Rubic would do the same; the rtifact was the prize after all, whoever got to it first would have a ton of power to trounce their opponent.

Flapping his wings he landed on on the next platform, from here on out it was a maze of platforms gradually moving upwards in varying directions but he;d rather go the obvious route, his wings shifted and changed into tendrils that shot out and clung to the platform above him before he was carried upwards and into the next platform; by this point he'd lost sight of Rubic but he doubted the other would be far behind him.
