Dancing waters. Water is her life. She was once the one, humans, believed to control the waters and the way it moved and felt. She can bring about calming healing water or completely poison it and make it unsafe by any and all standards.

• History |
She is as old as the world itself. She was born to love the water and to grant life to all. Without her, all life will surely parish and that was the belief for thousands of years. Humans regarded her as a goddess and a god; they sacrificed to her; they worshiped her; they feared her; they trusted her; they gave her many names, each one for each type of people.  But perhaps we should start with much simpler times and terms.

Back when the world was just starting out, and that means way before titans or maybe it was around the same time as the titans, who knows? This narrator’s memory gets a bit fuzzy going back that far. Any who~, let’s continue. Back when the world was getting created there were beings created for a sole purpose on this little planet. There was a being for land, one for air, one for fire, one for nature, one for the weather, and one for water. Of course their father was Death himself and their mother Life. Each being carried both parent’s abilities to grant and take away life. Once all had been created their parent’s told them to set forth and make what they thought could hold life.  So land made herself a giant land mass and said any and all things could live here. Nature then looked to his sister and said Then I will give this land beautiful trees, flowers, and plant life that can bare sustenance for any and everything. Fire dug deep into the center of this planet and created vents for heat to escape and he also brought it closer to him so he could warm it all at once. Air then set about creating gentle breezes to help calm and cool the lands. Weather then said that she would make a variety of days for everything to enjoy.

Then when it came to last of the beings, Water flooded the planet. She bathed it in her cool, pure water and said this can help connect and sustain any and everything. Now we are only going to focus on Water, as so far she is the only one this narrator can recall. Maybe with time the others stories will surface.

Now, Water loved everything she had made. She created the sea creatures and watched as they grew and began to swim. She even grew to love the creatures that Land and Nature had created. Her most favorite was the humans that Life and Death had created for their children to nurture. Everyday She would give them fresh water so they would be strong and wouldn’t die. She even gave them food to eat.
She loved them as though they were her own but she wasn’t alone in this feeling, everyone loved them. So no one would know what to do when this bliss would end.

Before we get ahead of ourselves we should take a moment to enjoy the love Water had for them. Because she always supplied them with food and drinking water, the humans began to think of her as a God or Guardian. As the humans grew more diverse she became curious as to how they had changed. She listened to them as they developed many different tongues and many different dialects. Fascination ruled her, as she would swim across vast oceans or large rivers just to listen to her beloved humans.  With every land she visited she would gain another name; Undine was the first she got. A young blind girl gave it to her, she could see the physical appearance of Water and she told Water just how beautiful she was. This was the first time she had encountered a human who could see her, so Water didn’t know what to do except run. She eventually returned and befriended the young girl. Water, now known as Undine, greatly enjoyed listening to the young girl talk.

One day Undine asked the girl what her name was. The Girl replied, “Almeda”. Undine smiled and told Almeda that she and her siblings had helped make the world. Undine told Almeda about all the wonderful things that she and her siblings had done. Undine told Almeda what she had seen and described the world to this girl who could not see. Undine truly grew to love this girl a little more than the humans she would always love. She enjoyed watching Almeda smile and laugh at the funny things she would say. Undine never thought that she would lose her friend. Undine thought she would keep her friend forever, but one day Undine returned to visit Almeda only find that Almeda would never show. Undine waited for days on end for her friend and then one day she saw her father, Death. Undine looked at her father and saw that he held the hand of Almeda. Undine grew happy and excitedly awaited her friend, when she saw her friend getting closer she called out to her. However her father shielded Almeda from Undine and Undine didn’t understand. She swam closer to her father and demanded to see her friend. Undine tugged at his arm and managed to get between her father and Almeda.

Much to her horror she saw that her friend was no more than a skeleton. Already dead, and already gone. Undine looked to her father and asked him what happened to her friend. This is when she learned that some humans were bad and others were good. A bad human had hurt Almeda and Undine’s father had come to take Almeda away from the human world. Undine begged her father to let her friend stay, Undine would take care of her however her father said no and just like that Almeda was gone.

For days after that incident, Undine cried and cried. In her sorrow she caused mass floods and tidal waves to crash upon the many lands of the humans and wiped out a good portion of them. When she felt better after her mother had consoled her and told her that Almeda would return. Undine decided to stay away from humans until her friend would return. She told her mother that she wanted to know when Almeda would return, however her mother said that she could not tell Undine that. Feeling defeated Undine took to the water’s she created and swam around the world as a way to get her mind off of the events that had transpired.

In time Undine made many friends but none could compare to her first friend. With each new friend a new name was given to her and in time she amassed so many that she forgot what name went with what friend. Time moved on and soon those friends too died. Some lived out their lives until natural causes caused them to die, others were casualties of war, and some were sacrifices. As her friend’s left Undine took to finding other humans to be her friend. She would sit on rocks and wait for sailors to come by and talk to her. She never meant to hurt any of them but sometimes they fell into the water and never came back up.

Undine was no longer naïve to the fact that she could kill the humans she loved. So now she did not weep for them instead she just let them collect in a watery graveyard. As time passed she saw many wars and she caused many storms to try to stop the fighting but eventually she faded from the human’s list of things to fear.

Now we can really get somewhere. Time marched on and the humans invented many new things to accommodate themselves. Undine could feel herself getting sicker; her siblings were also getting sicker. As the humans continued to poison the paradise that had been given to them Undine watched as her siblings died. The first to go was her brother Nature. He couldn’t keep up with the Human expansion. Undine watched her brother work himself to death. His last gift was a tiny flower that he hoped would please the humans and it did. It cured them of their aliments, especially cancer. However once the flower was harvested to extinction, they found ways to recreate it in a synthetic way. Undine saw her brother die, as he felt betrayed by them. The next to go was Weather and Air at the same time. Weather had become so sick that she caused many harmful storms and destruction to befall the humans but they had managed to create synthetic ways to create pleasant weather patterns for themselves. Air had become cancerous, no longer safe for anything Air died off and with Air gone, Fire was surely to go next. Fire had always been close to Air and so when he learned that his siblings had perished he fell into a rage and wanted to burn the humans away. Land tried to stop him but she suffered many burns from him and as they tried to save the Humans Undine set her sibling free by swallowing them in her vast but quickly depleting waterways. With her two remaining siblings gone Undine struggled to hold on. She fought hard to try to revive her siblings. She begged her parents to help her save them but even they could not help. Undine grew weaker and weaker; she couldn’t handle the poisons that the humans were pouring into her. She had to pull back all the water she had spread through out the word.

Undine was reduced to a living corps; she was living on eating her beloved humans. She had made it to the northern hemisphere and as she was eating a drunk who had fallen into her now tiny lake, when she heard a word that struck a cord.
“Undine?”
Undine stopped eating and turned to look at who said her name, a name she hadn’t heard in centuries. There, right before her stood a small, blind girl, although now she wore a suit to protect her from the toxins that now riddled the natural world, she looked just like Almeda. Undine grew wide-eyed as she gasped and tried to form words, to communicate with her.
“Al…m…a…?”
Undine moved closer but she fell into the pool of mangled body parts and blood. She kept trying to say the girl’s name.
“Al…m…e…d…”
Undine looked up through her blood stained hair and could see the girl’s body tense up in fear.
“Almeda.”
Undine managed to finally say as she looked down at her own reflection in the murky water that was stained crimson. Undine laughed as she wiped the blood from her face and did her best to clean her self. She didn’t want to show her face to her friend that she thought she would never see again. However as she tried to clean her face she felt a hand on her head and she slowly looked up.

“I can’t see you but I know you are pretty. Something just tells me you are. So please, don’t cry.” The girl said with a smile. She ran her fingers through Undine’s hair and giggled but then her giggling stopped when her hand touched something that felt strange. “What is that?”

Undine frowned as she gently took Almeda’s hand and held it. “I have always had that. Don’t be afraid. It’s natural.” Undine said in a voice that masked her sadness. “Tell me, do you want to hear a story and can I talk to you daily?”

Almeda giggled and said yes. So Undine told her one of the thousands of stories that Undine had collected over the years and for a few days after their meeting Undine thought there might be hope after all. However that was not going to happen. On a rather gloomy day, Undine was once again covered in blood and eating yet another unfortunate human to fall into her murky water. Almeda came to Undine and asked for a story so Undine complied and told Almeda a story. As Almeda listened intently and Undine talked in voices that Almeda liked, a man approached and sat next to Almeda. Undine stopped talking and stared at him. She didn’t trust him and asked Almeda who he was. Almeda looked at the man and shrugged. The man then asked who she was talking to. Almeda told him it was Undine, and Undine was a mermaid and she was beautiful. Almeda went on and on about Undine to the man and the man laughed and smiled and played along with Almeda thinking it was all a game.

Then he decided he had had enough of this game and grabbed Almeda. She asked him to let go and that he was hurting her. Undine wouldn’t stand by and let him hurt her friend so she tried to stop him but she was too weak. She was just a shadow of her former self. She watched as he tried to hurt Almeda again and she called out to Almeda. Undine told her to bring the man closer and she could stop him but Almeda was too scared. She wasn’t listening. Undine wasn’t about to lose her friend again.

Undine summoned all of her remaining power and she became visible to everyone around her. She walked from the bloody water of where she had been living, on to the shore and grabbed the man by the arm. He turned to look at her and he was horrified, he let out a scream of terror. Undine didn’t look at all like what Almeda had described. Undine looked more like a monster right out of a sick and twisted nightmare. Because of all the toxins that the humans had poured into the water Undine reflected that. She picked the man up like he was nothing and ripped off his protective suit exposing him to the toxins she had been living with. Hearing him beg she brought him to her last remaining pool of water and plunged his head under it. She repeated this over and over, each time slamming his head further under until she felt the bottom. She didn’t stop until his head was soft, mushy, pile of brains, blood, and bone.

She then went to Almeda’s side and saw that the man had broken the mask that Almeda used to breathe clean filtered air. Undine stroked the dying girl’s hair and held her close. She could hear Almeda’s heart slowing and Undine was getting weaker. She didn’t want Almeda to die scared so Undine whispered something to the little girl. She then carried the little girl to the pool and as Undine walked into the water she held her friend close. Undine then submerged them both in the bloody, murky water and as Almeda’s body convulsed violently Undine smiled at the blind girl and just held her tight. As Almeda faded so did Undine. Undine had never been exposed that much to so many different toxins that her weak body could not fight it off. Undine’s grip on Almeda loosened and as Undine sunk to the bottom and began to dissolve, Almeda floated to the surface and managed to live. Almeda went on to once again to tell the tale of Undine and hopefully this time, history won’t repeat itself.

//The reason there are two pictures is, the top one shows how she used to look before pollution and the depletion of the water ways. The last picture is what she looks like now. So if you need to know what she looks like, just look at the last picture NOT the first one.

Thanks. :3
