History: Abram was born in a small town by the docks of Boston, Massachusetts. His family was lower middle class, brought up by his mother a stay at home wife, his father, a fisherman, and later joined by his two younger brothers Daniel and James.

In his later years, Abram took up fishing with his father to suffice for his goals of moving out and starting his own life. His father accepted his help.

Around the age of 26 he began a relationship with Johanna, a recently freed slave due to the success of the north in the civil war. His family frowned upon his decision, thus disowning him. His father pushing out of the family business.

A year later, they moved to New York City where they had also secretly been married. To avoid concerns Abram told neighbors Johanna was his maid.

In the year 1883, Abram set out with a crew on a whaling expedition leaving Johanna with their unborn child. Abram met his demise as the ship over turned in a storm just days after departure.
