Three days

Reid and Reeve had just arrived to Haven, they had thought it a dream, a mirage, but it was much more than that. It was salvation, an oasis in the dessert.

Trees flew by as they run, the air was a mixture of chill and humidity both weighing down their bodies as they make a break for their salvation. The thought of being with others was almost unbearable as they were stopped, a single man stood between them and Haven, his bow in hand aimed at the group "By the way you two are running I assume you value your lives, stop now." His voice was a low commanding growl releasing one of his arrows. THUNK The arrow implants deeply in a tree very near to them. "You two don't look like people who would of survived Greed's awakening who are you?" his voice has an irritated undertone to it as he pulled another arrow tight aiming directly at Reid with full intent to kill. Behind him movement was bustling, it was very obvious that challenging the man at this range would be some form of suicide.

Reid stopped immediately and moved in front of Reeve to protect him. "Were just looking for somewhere to stay. We died, and now were alive again, we just want somewhere we can go to get away from all the creatures of the forest." He left out the part about them being challenged by an avatar.

Reeve heard the aarow before he saw it and swallowed a little as Reid tried to explain themselves "We're telling the truth we've been in the run for days now...was told by er, someone that there was a place here where other humans lived" He said softly "Please we mean no harm"

The man listens to their reason and merely scoffs. "Usually people who are running arn't just coming here for a good time." And with that he fired another arrow this one flying over Reid's shoulder implanting deep into another tree. "Why are you really runn-" He began to shout at the two of them but a voice echoed from overhead floating deep into all of their minds. Arrow, they are about as threatening as a box of kittens, send them inside and cool your anger issues. "Yes Chief." Arrow growls annoyed and motion them past him with a wave of his hands, "You two stampeding through this area scared away all of the critters, Chief will meet you inside, welcome to Haven." He basically spits at them as he wraps the bow around his body running off into the shadows, after a moment his foot steps seemed to completely disappear leaving an ominous feeling, the words in their heads echoed hollowly imprinting themselves deep in their minds. The group of two see a massive group of people huddled near the river a mound of flesh and scales was there completely carved off being warmed over fire for food, around them many people were busy crafting and running things from one place to another however Chief was no where to be found leaving them in a rather confused moment.

Reeve didn't understand the other males problem its not like they couldn't fight, Reeve despite his appearances was exceptionally good with a sword and had dabbled in a bit of brawling in his past life he watched the boy go wondering why he;s so hostile before he looked to Reeve "Lets go" He said softly shouldering the bad with all their items inside; the only thing on them that could be considered dangerous was the slate knife that Reeve used for cutting up meat, hardly a match against a well made sword or bow.

"I wonder where this chief person is...everyone seems really busy" He muttered to the other still keeping one hand held nervously in the others; he felt much safer knowing the other was around.

Reid decided to forget about the distrusting man and focus on their new...home. He watched the people move about, obviously busy cooking some fish, he kept himself and Reeve out of the way, someone would probably come to greet them...eventually. If the mean time instead of trying to talk to someone they kept to the side, simply watching. He smiled at Reeve, "Were actually here...can you believe it?"

The busy nature didn't stop them from getting glances. In such a small community everyone knew each other and it was very easy to pick out new people out of the group. Chatter about them floats around stories of their adventures seemed to travel farther and beyond their control by merely the glance of the group. Just glancing at the huts it was very obvious where the Chief resided, a hut slightly larger than the rest set in the center of the camp. It looked as if it was made to accommodate three and there was a person standing outside making sure no one entered without being announced, the man was massive towering at 6'8" his short black hair and clothing made him seem almost miltary-like a hammer made out of rock, wood and string rested on his back, however they were spoken to much before that. Reeve and Reid, I am with someone else currently please wait for me to come to you enjoy some food while you wait, you must be hungry. The chief's voice once again echoes in their minds no matter how polite he was seeming to be there was something strange in his deep, smooth voice and about the words he spoke.

As Reid listened to the voice he wondered how he knew their names, but decided that they would have to trust the mysterious person for the time being. He stepped forward and waited for a piece of fish to be completely cooked before he handed one to Reeve, then took one for himself. The chief had given them permission, so no matter what kind of looks they got he ignored them.

Reeve was used to people looking at him strangely and he self consciously moved some hair over his eyes to hide them, he hadn't felt the need to do this around Reid but around others he felt shy and nodded as he heard the man's voice in his head; he wasn't all that surprised; after all people here would have abilities like him. Sitting down he took the fish that was offered to him and nibbled at it still looking around "This place...its nice" He said softly he wanted to make a place like this of his own by the sea one day maybe make a sister village to Haven; isn't that how most civilizations started?

"Hello you two, welcome to Haven." A voice cuts through their thoughts causing both of them to turn reactionary towards him. the man was lanky with blond hair he looked about seventeen his green eyes shimmering brilliantly in the sunlight. "As you have probably deduced I am Chief I am glad you guys could make it, where are you from?" The man asks however he didn't seem to really care, already knowing where they were from. Chief seemed to be slightly nervous glancing around. "The man that confronted you, did you see him go anywhere in particular? he is usually back by now." Legitimate concern floated beneath his euphoric expression, it seemed when ever he spoke they were drawn to listen, every thought completely vanishing to hear his words as clear as possible.

The boy didn't look much like a leader, he was a mere teenager. Reid didn't notice how much he was drawn to him, and ignored the first question. "He went that way," Reid pointed in the direction he remembered Arrow running of to, he doubted a man as strong as him was in trouble, and wondered why the "chief" was even concerned. "Well, it seems you already know our names, so what's yours, 'chief'." He wanted a real name, not some title.

Reeve, noticed the pull noticed how everyone was drawn in by the others voice and he raised an eyebrow at it, he was still pulled in by it like Reid was, but he recognized it as being a similar ability to his own only it seemed to work on people not animals "Nice ability you have there" He said softly as he watched chief carefully "Its quite an ability to make people listen to you "He's right an actual name would be nice"

"Very observant of you Reeves, but I apologize we actually don't go by our original names here, it is a new life we all are treating it like one." Chief explains lamely, he looked at them head to toes however it was very subtle and hard to notice. Chief glanced over at Reid meeting his eyes, the bright green was almost entrancing but he quickly looks away. "Well you two, I am a very busy man, what brings you to Haven today?" His tone seemed slightly agitated that both of them ignored his question about their previous locations blatantly however he didn't any adjustments in his happy look. While they were chatting people would walk up and ask him questions, and in a blink he would be turned back facing them, not sure if he was actually replying or just shooing them off the memory of the incident immediately becoming fuzzy, however for some odd reason it was very easy to remember all of the sights around them, especially the massive river located next to the town.

After Reeve pointed it out Reid did see how the chief effected not only him but others as well. The place was safe, that was for sure, but there was something strange about it too. He guarded Reeve from the chiefs view, maybe they shouldn't stay, though it hurt him to imagine they would have to go back out into the wild. He eyed the chief suspiciously while he talked to some villagers, he turned to a Reeve and whispered in his ear, "Are you sure you want to stay here? Something is strange..." If Reeve really wanted to Reid would stay with him and protect him.

Chief smiles listening to Ree, his euphoric behavior seems to radiate from his person listening very courteously, even waiting for Reid to finish his very rude whispering. "Ahh, the sea. I was never one much for water personally I was a magician in my past life and the thought of drowning while doing an act terrified me." He chuckled thinking about it but the next question threw him a little off guard, Chief paused thinking for a moment before replying, "The harder you look, the farther you will be away from the truth." and with that ambiguous answer he motioned towards the river. "We were lucky enough to find a freshwater river, this volcano here creates snow and melts it itself creating a massive flow of water." Chief could only laugh at himself realizing he has said way too much information now just saying useless facts. "We had one man with the ability to levitate and he went all the way to the top, however he came back deranged and crazy spouting things about zombies." Chief grins at such a foolish thought of the dead coming back to life and urges them forward. "Go ahead and have some water, eat some food if you have any questions or concerns just let me or Arrow know, we are the on hand leaders." And with that he walked away heading back towards his tent. Over by the river there were stakes dug into the ground pointing at the water, a few having Hydra heads mounted on top like a trophy.

Cheif made him uneasy, he couldn't put his finger on it but no one should be be so easy going or smile so much with a bunch of strangers, it was nice to be welcomed sure but the fact the other could control people with his ability just put him on edge "I doubt we can stay here forever what with our three day mark coming up, but we can take this time to earn some supplies and learning to refine our powers; other then understanding animals I'm not exactly good at controlling or befriending them yet, and you need to work on your shifter abilities" He whispered back before looking to Chief "We won;t be staying here for long we would like to earn some supplies by helping out your village, if that's alright with you"

Reid nodded to Reeve's suggestion, they would leave later, and deal with the avatar on their own, make their own community as well, if they could survive the avatar, that is. He watched the chief, waiting for his response and hoping he would say yes.

"Of course that is fine, if it wasn't I wouldn't be offering you food and water." Chief merely chuckles at his question then the thought crept up on him. "Actually, it sounds awful but two people have passed away recently and you would be able to use their tents, we just need you to provide in some way much like everyone does around here." he motions around him looking around it seemed that everyone was doing something even if it was just keeping watch for the beast outside. "Make yourself at home, consider yourself a part of Haven until you part." As odd as he seemed to be acting the last statement seemed very genuine, he passed the arm guard at the tent with a subtle wave and he stayed his ground looking very intimidating. Your tent is here a voice echoes in their heads, and suddenly an imprinted image, the thought of the tent was one that would not leave their heads making it very easy to find. the tent was full of shoddy spears with obsidian tips and nets, whoever owned the tent before them was a fisherman and no one dared to touch his possessions.

Reeve nodded at that though but seemed odd that two people had conveniently died to make way for them, still with the image of the tent in their minds, they wouldn't lose their way "Thank you" He said softly before he finished the mean he;d been eating "Lets go check out the tent" He said to Reid with a smile, he was aware there were two of them but it seemed silly to have two tents when they were used to keeping watch over each other.

Reid nodded and wandered around until he saw the tent, the chief's power was certainly strange, but also useful. He wondered if it could be used in battle, but it didn't seem very well suited for that. He stepped inside the tent and sighed, they were just going from one dangerous place to another, he didn't trust anyone in the village, especially the chief. "I'm sorry we can't stay, this place isn't exactly what I expected."

(OOC: You guys can go on your own for a bit while I work with the others, I have given you all the information about the hut you are going to need for now, don't really have much to say in this post anyways! :3)

(Edit***: I'll sneak in another post when you guys make it to the hut or try to talk with some random villager.)

Reeve looked inside it felt strange to live in someone else's place after they had died; but he understood resources here must be scarce so there was no point in wasting things, he looked to Reid and shook his head "It's alright Reid, we can't exactly stay here for long anyway" He said as he scratched as his shoulder which was still healing "I wonder if they have some sort of medicine here, It's do me some good to put some actual ointment on my injuries" He said as he checked his foot the blisters had scabbed over so the skin would peel off once it was fully healed.

Reeve place what little items they had in the tent before he looked to the other "We should explore a bit, and do some training...do you know how to fight Reid?"

Reid looked around but didn't see anything aside from fishing equipment. He scratched his head and gave a light chuckle, "define fight," he wasn't weak or wimpy, but he didn't have any proper training on how to fight. He knew he was holding Reeve back but tried his best to protect him.
