Abandoned

Lucifer shrugged "Still, even if its hard you still need rest at some point.." he stretched a bit "At least we know undead exist in this world now as well." He looked over at Hiro who seemed to sleep still "The kid will turn out okay, give him a few days to mourn but he'll still need to help us survive. As mean as it sounds we can't afford dead weight." he paused "Plus if he survived this long he has to have some hunting and gathering skill."

Hiro just listened to them talk about him, he couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't be dead weight. He watched as the sun began to rise in front of him, the bright light made him squint his eyes, and trigger his photic sneeze reflex. He sneezed and realized his cover was blown, so he sat up, brushing off whatever dirt had stuck to him, most of it was on Reo's jacket though and he felt bad, taking it off and handing it back to its owner. He looked to the there two, not wanting to mention that he had heard their conversation, though it was obvious. Hiro glanced over to where Kioshi was buried and quickly turned his gaze back to the ground.

Lucifer nodded "You're right, this planet doesn't have anywhere close to the human population Earth had." he noticed the sun come up and he put out the fire. "If he doesn't have any uses we'll just have to teach him then." he sighed. He hoped the kid would be able to adapt quickly because, even though they both don't want it, eventually the kid would wind up dead.

He stood up with a yawn, walking with Reo to the kid he handed him a cooked piece of meat, also handing one to Hiro "Breakfast." he shrugged "You two go on without me, I'll start gathering supplies..Tree sap will help for future wounds." he smiled, pointing to a tree leaking some sap. He waited til they were gone to begin.

Hiro reluctantly followed Reo to the grave. The dry dirt held his friend, the person he had been throughout so vouch with, that could no longer breathe the same air as him. He would never be able to thank him for at least trying to keep him alive during the apocalypse. He sighed and looked at Reo, wondering what he was going to do. "What are we doing?"

Lucifer made a thing container like shape of earth, storing sap to mend any wounds they might obtain later on. He hoped that Hiro could move past this. It took Lucifer along time to get over his friend's death back on Earth. He sighed and filled the container, using earth to put a lid on it, tying it up with some vine on the ground. He then went back to camp, the thought of his life on earth began to bother him again.

He sat down, packing the meat away as a memory of his father teaching him how to hunt came to mind. He remembered the first time his father let him try to down a deer, he missed by a long shot, the arrow had gone missing after that. He smiled remembering when his dad just laughed it off. Lucifer gave a slight sigh and laid back after he finished packing up, wondering if any of his family would be on this strange planet or whatever he was on, he still didn't completely know yet.

Hiro sighed and looked at the dirt again, trying to remember what Kioshi's face looked like before everything, before all the death and repair hit, back when things were simpler. He couldn't do it, so instead he closed his eyes, "Bye." In movies and shows at times like this words seemed important, the main character would make a speech with beautiful similes and deep metaphors, but he couldn't think of anything like that to say. He turned away from the grave, scanning the ground and eyeing tons of rocks around. "Let's make a headstone then." He started to pick up a few decent sized stones and place them at the head of the overturned dirt.

Lucifer wondered if he should've gone with, with him having earth powers and all he could've helped build the grave. He sat up and gave it some thought..."Nah, its more sentimental if he does it himself." her said to himself as he began to get thirsty, he couldn't wait to get going but at the same time felt the kid might need more time to mourn.

To keep himself busy he went to the knife that belonged to Hiro, taking it appart, replacing the handle with stone wrapped in leather strips, for the blade he wandered around, finding a small flint of iron he first used the last of their steel they mined last week for the middle of the blade, masking a sharp iron for the cutting edges. He busied himself after with making a sheathe from the last of the leather strips and some sap. He smiled, he wasn't a master but it wasn't half bad. He set it back where he picked it up and laid back down to relax

"What is that?" Hiro asked, looking at the foreign letters on the rock. He picked up a slightly pointed rock and wrote Kioshi's name in Japanese below the english spelling. "There." He looked at the now correct original spelling of the name, satisfied. "Thats enough, we should start moving." He wanted to prove to them that he could be useful, and hopefully soon discover his miracle. He would do his best, though it might not be enough, he could at least keep up with them.

He looked over to Lucifer who seemed to be busying himself with odd jobs and began to walk back over, though he laid down. "So you're over here sleeping while were actually doing things hmm?" He joked, he knew the other had just relaxed. Hiro noticed his knife and picked it up, wordlessly fitting it into the holster on his thigh.

"Your friends name" He said softly with a sight smile before he nodded and watched him scratch out the kanji for it, he nodded when the other decided to move on and followed him smear sling over his shoulder as he watched Lucifer "Seen as we are all awake we might as well get a start...though I'm not sure where we should head next"

Lucifer handed the blade over to Hiro and saw him put it away. He'd put a good 20 or so minutes into it which was a long time considering his powers. He wondered if Hiro would like it and decided to ask "Your blade was so dull it would bearly cut an apple most likely..I upgraded it if you want to take a look."

Lucifer smiled and stood up, stretching "I want to go to the creek about half a mile south of here and wash up, drink up as well as try for some fish. Meat is good and all but fish is good. Still remember the day you and I managed to catch 20 somehow, despite us both sucking at fishing." he laughed and smiled "I call first dibs at drinking from the creek though."

Hiro examined the knife, fitting it into the holster and making sure it couldn't fall out. "A creek sounds nice," He hadn't had fresh water in a while, and was looking forward to it, "I call second dibbs."

Lucifer was glad "I also filled your hilt with sand, makes it lighter and it can help blind an enemy if need be." he threw the leather skin bag over his shoulder, handing the other to Hiro so he could help out as he started walking "After we're all done drinking we should wash up as well and while you guys were out I collected a good amount of sap for physical wounds."

  He then walked with them to the creek, he couldn't wait for fresh water as they found the creek he smiled and knelt down, taking several mouthfuls and feeling refreshed when suddenly his mood changed to illness, seeing Reo start to kneel down he put his hand out "DONT DRINK THE WATER" he managed to say before keeling over and vomiting into a nearby bush

From an unknown direction that echoed off the trees they could hear a snickering sound, as if someone watching was laughing

Hiro was looking around, making sure the coast was clear before he drank, when Lucifer yelled. He snapped his head over in the direction before seeing the other vomit. "Lucifer! Are you alright?" He knelt down by other, confused as to what had happened. That was when he heard the laughing, looking around he tried to pinpoint where it was coming from.

Reo rubbed Lucifer's back as he let the other throw up; better that he expels as much of the poison as possible rather then trying to swallow it down. Reo also heard the laughter and frowned as he looked around, he couldn't see anyone but that wasn't about to stop him from looking "Hiro look after him" He said a she held his spear in both hands and used the shadows as a second set of eyes as he went looking in the trees for any sign of who could have poisoned the water.

Lucifer felt dizzy and vomited again, this time more violently as he suffered a coughing fit and tried to calm himself down. He watched as Reo left and Hiro looked after him, Lucifer, on top of his current suffering began profusedly sweating as well.

The voice snickered again "If it is the cure you want then you must first find the flower of blood in a valley of sunny saints." it snickered, still unable to be found but an open sunflower patch could be seen by Reo.

"Give us the antidote!" Hiro stayed with Lucifer, and unbeknownst to him, when he said it, his miracle forced the hidden person to reveal himself, holding out the antidote for Reo to take. Hiro noticed and cocked his head to the side, they just did as he said? He wasn't about to question it though.

A red blade punctured into view like a needle entering through fabric, however the sword dragged through space and time revealing a pitch black hole. A single white hand slides into view grabbing onto one side of the portal dragging himself through. His head was the first to pop in, no hair decorating its white skin just a hole completely through its head from the bottom of the nose to the forehead, the blackness of the portal still able to be seen on the other side. Next his leg stepped through, his body was coated with a body was coated with a black armor as he steps all the way through the portal, bending his wings to allow them both through the small entrance.

The new drier climate caused Pain's skin to rupture and crack but he did not mind as his regeneration immediately caused him to return to his pasty white form. His wings flexed sending a rain of black feathers to pool behind him, his body sore from the recent Deborah encounter.

"Come on Joy, I think this may be closer." Pain says pessimistically. The second portal failed in a grand time of three hours seemed to make Pain very frustrated as he reached back pulling Joy by the arm through the portal. Pain himself did not notice or care to notice the humans that were before him, his senses were dulled by the power surging through his veins. He quickly surveyed the area and concluded they were going no where close to their destination by teleportation. "Well Joy, it appears on foot is the only way to go until you get strong enough to open portals yourself." Pain mutters as he grabs the small girl setting her on his shoulders once more and in complete view began walking away from the group not giving them even a single look, respecting them as much as insects.

As Joy attempts to move herself from the dark portal she fails in doing so, her body refused to move any more. As Pain's hand pulls Joy through she lets out a small cry from her body reminding her that she still was not healed. And as quickly as she entered the bright area her eyes began to also hurt, Joy moved her hands up to rub her eyes tears forming as she pushed her palms harshly against them. Feeling Pain once again pull her up to his shoulders, but that movement made Joy continue to whine and become upset with her body not healing.

If seen close enough, you could see clear liquids seeping from Joy's pores as if she were melting from the inside, and even pieces of sand in the water. Some spots still had frozen area's, like the large wounds on her back where she once had wings. And now as the area was melting, there was blood beginning to form, it began to even glide down her back with the water. Joy's now long white hair was covering most of her body as she sat on Pain's shoulder rocking with each of his movements.

Joy obviously could not see the humans nearby, her eyes were still trying to adjust to the light that blinded her. The only thing she felt she could do was rest her cheek on the top of his head and close her eyes. "I'm sorry brother.. I will try to heal faster." Joy spoke as if she had no drive, no push, no well joy, her eyes winced with each step Pain took.

The man came from his hiding place, dressed in animal skins and has a hammer made from wood and stone. He smirked, feeling constricted almost "The cure? I do not have one." he suddenly felt as though he had to tell more and after some resistance he did "If you want the cure, reach Haven within 48 hours or he dies." He suddenly heard Reo and smirked, drawing his weapon.

Lucifer was on the ground, panicking a bit when hearing the words that he had no cure on him. He laid there feeling a little faint and hot headed when he noticed Joy with a man and his eyes opened wide. He whispered "J..joy..." a couple times, getting louder as he struggled to get up, his body shaking as he got to his knees and yelled "JOY!!! OVER HERE!!!" and collapsed, coughing up blood from the sudden thrust of energy that his body couldn't afford.
