A blind leap

The shout of food raged on for quite some time, sadly the T-rex would not realize that it was out of his reach but suddenly the pounding stopped, along with the roaring and the walking, the T-rex was still, his head reared up towards the sky as a shadow descended on him. Reeve could feel the emotion of the animal, and at first the blood lust floated heavily in the sky hunger taking hold of most of its emotions. However one held predominant over the rest, the feeling of fear. But soon even that feeling was dismissed rather immediately like a candle being snuffed out, leaving a odd feeling of cold in the air. Outside the creature that was once there was standing tall, its body frozen in a look of defiance however its scales are now a gray, completely made of gravel down to every detail.
   "So pretty." The masked figure says to the gravel giant before him, he was merely a toe size compared to it and it appeared the massive bird that was following them was a Roc, not capable of such a miraculous feat that was before them. "Creature, send the message that there is no where for them to hide." With the one command the massive stone reptile begun once again smashing his head against the side of the mountain, its mouth opens and closes as if trying to roar but its stoney interior doesn't allow it. His commander climbing onto his massive eagle chuckling darkly before taking off into the sky once more leaving them with a much more interesting problem, a golem craving their blood.

"He's looking for food?" Reid asked Reeve when suddenly the roaring stopped. He waited, thinking maybe it would leave, but remained quiet because he didn't hear it leave. Reid flinched when he unexpectedly thew himself at the mountain again. "We should probably go somewhere more safe."

Reid wanted to help Maria, but he didn't know if he could change into a chimera or change at will at all. But he tried nonetheless. His skin tone darkened and patches of wiry hair grew,he got down on all fours and looked like a chimera, a slightly mutated one. Instead of helping Maria, he attacked the unsuspecting Reeve, biting his shoulder. A chimera was too difficult to control, he lost himself and lost control.

For most creatures an attack on the eyes is rather vulnerable, and even for a giant like the one before them it was catastrophic, it begun pounding madly on the walls making considerable echoes even causing slight rattling as if they were just going to collapse, however it stayed tall and so did the creature, not a sound of pain or anguish filled its mind. Its only thought was "No where to hide." However while the walls maintained their composure the T-rex was slowly pounding himself to dust, each hit was causing cracks until eventually his being crumbled, its larger ligaments twitch still trying to make their way to the group as unsuccessful as they are. Up high in the sky the single bird still circled, never had shown its face to the group even when Gash swooped in on his eagle, taunting them with te massive distance.

Reid could hear Reeve like an echo in the distance, begging him to fight. The chimera's mind was like a maze, he was lost, and confused. He tried to fight, not knowing what his body was doing on its own. He struggled, but had no idea what he was struggling against, somehow he managed to widen his mouth enough to unlatch from Reeve. He stumbled back, tail between his legs and head throbbing with pain.

Maria reappearing and finding the chimera all of a sudden made her a tad bit shocked, and thrown off to see that Reeve was hurt made her glare at Reid with anger. In her confusion and not exaclty sure of what to do she quickly grabbed Reeve and teleported Reeve outside of the cave. She would wait it out for Reid to come to his senses or at least give him a chance to take control of the beast from a safe distance. "You two are driving me insane" She yelled as she instinctively ripped away at her pants leg to form yet another bandage for Reeve.

Reid still couldn't tell exactly what was going on, he felt even worse when Maria took Reeve away, it hurt, he tried to will himself to change back but his body dint want to, morphing put a lot of strain on him and he couldn't just change back and forth so fast. He laid down, using his back legs to scratch his head, it hurt most there.

Maria scoffed and teleported inside of the cave coming up from behind Reid she grabbed his tail and teleported the rest of him out of the cave. Frustrated she began to walk away having her own doubts of the relationship she had with the two of them. She wanted to think they were all friends but with Reid carelessly attacking Reeve she did not want to be next. Thinking rashly she looked back at them one more time, to confirm her current opinion.

Reid snapped at Maria's hand after it was pulled away he faced the two, eyes glaring and fully on guard. His conciousness was trying to break through but that only made him more hostile.

Reid backed away even more, debating running away. He wasn't thinking straight, hell he couldn't think at all. Every cell in his body screamed danger and pain and begged for him to run, but his true consciousness willed him to stay close to Reeve and Maria.

Maria was unsure of what to do for certain, but this new place had come to a shock to her, and her life style did not allow her to have feelings for the dead. She would have killed even her closest friends for the slightest offence, she could not figure out why she was so hesitant here as she thought about it, she had come to a conclusion as Reeve begged her to help. "Help him yourself... I am out of here" She then teleported away and began to move on her own. She felt like the two of them had been carrying her down, and once she figured that out for herself she knew she was better off alone.

She couldn't help but tear up a little, which through her off even more as she had never cried over someone before. She had lost family member after family member in her past life but not shed a single tear, but in this reality. She found herself slightly depressed.

Reid's chimera mind became less hostile when Maria left, because he didn't feel any connection to her. He remembered that Reeve tried to soothe him in the cave and slowly approached, nudging him with his nose.

Reid stepped back, he had heard Reeve's voice and focused, calming down and telling himself there was no more danger. He morphed back, much more slowly than the first time he changed. He was kneeling on the ground and brought a hand to his mouth, swallowing back vomit and tasting blood. He groaned and held his head. He didn't remember all of what happened, only from the time after Maria left to now. "What happened?" He tried to collect his thoughts. "Where's Maria?"

"I was…hostile? And Maria left? Why?" He couldn't wrap his head around just what had happened and failed to notice Reeve bleeding. "Is it safe here? Should we go somewhere else?" With Maria he felt safe because he knew she was strong and could get them out of any tough situation, but now he felt exposed, naked, anything could attack them at any moment.
