Reid managed to stay up all night, he got tired and almost fell asleep twice but managed to shake himself awake in time. The sun began to slowly climb against the horizon and light the surrounding area in its orange pink glow. Well it wasn't the sun, but it was a star and looked exactly like the sun, so he was going to call it sun. He sighed, laying down in the dirt and rolling to his side. "Hey. Reeve, Maria, get up, its morning…" He closed his eyes to rest for a moment, hoping he would be able to go the whole day without falling asleep.

Reeve let out a soft groan as he let his eyes flutter open, obviously he was still groggy from being awoken so suddenly and shifted a little as he sat up; the large cloak he had worm before he now used as a makeshift blanket, the material was thick enough to keep him arm at least while they were by the fire. Last night had been full of rather interesting talk between him and Reid and he couldn't wait for catch Maria up on what he had been told; about advancing technology and important historical events and the like and he had found it pretty fascinating for the most part.

He rubbed his eyes with one hand before he made a mental note that he needed to clean himself up; the chimera blood on his hands had dried and was starting to flake off in horrid clumps "Mornin'" he mumbled his Irish accent was more pronounced while he was sleepy or even drunk, he looked over at the other and noticed he looked worn out "Did you get ANY sleep last night?" He asked him surprised before he got up "You look like you're going to collapse where you stand...you should rest" He insisted draping the cloak around the others shoulders. "Take a nap there's no rush to reach the river just yet"

Maria woke up from her sleep, and stretched out her arms. "Yea... you kept watch during the night so you should rest" She go off her butt well rested and brushed some of the dirt off herself. She was ready to take on the day as she felt she was back to her full potential. She jumped up and down a few times and did a few high kicks touching her knee to her forehead each time. "Alright... and if this works correctly we will be down by the water no problem" She was a bit nervous but climbing down would not be easy for anyone considering how high it was. she felt that she needed to teleport them to make the trip doable so she would try her best at this very moment. She looked over the edge of the cliff again, in an attempt to spot any possible lower cliffs for her to jump down from. "Maybe I can do little jumps all the way down..." She thought to herself.

She sat got down on her stomach only her head looking down the cliff. She felt a little dizzy and her fear of hights was still present in her, but it was distracted by the somewhat wonderful view of the land. When they had arrived their before it was already Dusk and the view of the land was at its weakest but thanks to things being this early in the day. One could see a perfect view of the land and it was magnificent. One could see all the trees that rest in the center of the cavern, and the river that ran through it.

Reid laid down as he was told and closed his eyes when he felt the warm cloth wrapped around him but didn't sleep. In school kids called it 'resting their eyes' after pulling an all nighter like he had. "Are you sure you want to do it? We can find another way…" He mumbled when he heard the sounds of Maria waking up. He could tell she was scared and didn't want to force her to do anything. He wasn't certain they could find another way but was determined to try if need be.

Reeve could tell she was just as uneasy about this as he was; even fully rested this would take a lot out of her "Reid is right, you should only do this if you are sure you want to, if not, then we'll find another way" He told her; he wasn't going to force her to try it, especially when their powers were obviously so new to them; hell Reid didn't even know what his powers were yet and considering the range and scope of their abilities so far Reid's power could be a multitude of things, it was pure luck that he and Maria had even tapped into their abilities this soon after eating the apples.

Reid watched her scope out the area and he took note of the landscape; it really was beautiful here, a new world, a new paradise even if they could make it their home that is; it would take a lot of hard work but they could make homes in the tall trees; that would keep then save from carnivorous animals and he was sure having a word with the less hostile wildlife would ensure they stayed clear of them.

Maria nodded, "I got us into this mess... so its my job to get us out" She nodded to herself spotting a few ledges she could use to get closer to the bottom. She could not map out a perfect way to teleport them all down, but she could get them close enough to where climbing down wouldn't have been issue for her. She then grabbed both of the boys holding onto them tight, and teleported down one level. They were on a narrow ledge but it was supportive of them and they had no real issues for that one jump. She then looked down to her next jump and quickly teleported to it bring Reeve and Reid with her. It was another successful jump indeed. She was being rather rash and bold by just taking them along with testing it, but they needed water... and she needed a bath. She made one more jump and this time there was not enough room on the ledge to support all of them. Reid was being held, by Maria, there was no way she was going to let go of him, as she got down on her stomach on the ledge to hold him and pull him up she struggled. Her breathing was panicked as it all happened so fast, and it was completely unexpected.

Reid was surprised when maria grabbed him and pulled him to the ledge. He opened his eyes and guessed this meant Maria was ready. He was still tired so he held onto Reeve's coat that was still around him and leaned against Maria, ready to teleport. The first two were successful but on the third some rocks gave way and he slipped over. "Wah!" Reid grabbed Maria's arm that was holding him in a panic. He glanced at the ground far below and held Maria's arm tighter.

Reeve shook his head at that "It's not your fault Maria, what happened with the chimera's...you were scared, and confused, we all were, it's understandable" He said; in truth he felt it was in the past; the damage had been done and they couldn't do much to avert it now, but what he did know what that together they'd have a better chance of surviving any chimeras out for vengeance, if that happened at all and Maria would hold her own weight in the group; she had already proven herself to be very resourceful not only with her powers but simply using string to hurt the chimera as well.

The first two jumps went by just fine but the third almost made Reid fall and both he and Maria grabbed for him and tried to pull him back onto the ledge "That was close" He said softly as he looked down; even after there jumped it was still a big enough drop to at the very least seriously injure them. "You think you can make one more jump to get us to the bottom?" He asked Maria.

Reid carefully turned around and pulled both Maria and Reeve into a hug. "Thanks…I thought I was gonna die…" He wished he would discover his power soon and stop being just a dead weight. He wouldn't have made it anywhere on his own and hated himself for being so weak. He waited for Maria's response to Reeve's question and loosened the hug but still held onto them.

Maria nodded, and said... "I could attempt it... a big jump from here shouldn't be too much of a hassle" She attempted to focus on the location she wanted to jump to next, the view from where they were to the bottom was a lot better. She wasn't sure they could get to the bottom completely unscathed but she was confident that they would without a doubt survive it. She closed her eyes having the location locked in her mind as she took a deep breath. She then exhaled and in a flash of white light they had been teleported once more, they had just missed it by roughly 7 feet falling from that distance towards the ground.

Maria attempted to land on her feet, and in doing so found herself landing on soft and extremely hot sand. Reeve and Reid would follow behind her, landing in a similar fashion. They were at the bottom of the cavern for certain, but now they would have to be weary of lava emerging from the bottom of the river. The temperature in the cavern was above far above normal, being heated by the constant splitting of the planets plates. The earth quaked again, and because they were closer to the plates the quakes could be felt while at their strongest.

Reeve landed on his feet and stumbled a bit as he tried to regain his footing none of them wore shoes so they could all tell how warm this place was and the tremors underneath then defiantly meant earthquakes or worse were bound to happen here...still they were at the river at least so they could wash up they could bottle the water and wait for it to cool before drinking it but that would mean skinning a part of the large fur he look from the chimeras and making it into a water skin; as he has cut up the meat from the chimera he had managed to make thread from the beasts inner lining but he didn't have a needle or anything do this with.

taking up the sharp piece of slate again he cut off a sizeable amount of the fur and began scraping both sides until they were clean before he left it to bake on the sand so it would turn into a durable leather. then he carefully made holes in the edge of the leather and pushed the threat through the holes carefully before tying it up tight; he used the last bit of thread he had to act as a stopper at the top so the water wouldn't fall out...now it was just a matter of testing it.

He dipped the water-skin into the river letting it fill up before he pulled it out and checked for any leaks; it seemed to hold together really all and he was pleased with his handiwork "e water is still really warm so we should wait for it to cool down before we drink it...I'm going to have a bath" he said as he stripped off his pants and carefully sunk himself down into the hot water as he attempted to scrub the blood of his pants while washing himself clean in the process.

Reid landed on his feet as well but stumbled and fell onto his bottom, he pushed himself up to stand and realized how hot the ground was, jumping from foot to foot he watched as Reeve make what looked like a canteen to hold water. It held the water with no leaks and would definitely be very useful in the future. He puled his sweatshirt away from his chest and looked down, sniffing only to confirm that he smelled as bad as he thought, so he took off his clothes like Reeve and slowly got into the water. Only going father every few minutes to get used to the heat. "If I fall asleep make sure I don't drown." He hoped Maria didn't feel too awkward with both of them naked and covered himself as best he could for her sake.

Reeve smiled shyly when the other joined him to wash up; while he didn't mind the other joining him to clean themselves (He'd have to bathe with two older brothers before now as a kid) he did feel a bit shy because Maria wasn't too far away from them and he hoped she had the good sense to turn her eyes away; he'd been raised as a good catholic boy and he had believed in the catholic teachings until he had abandoned them as an adult, and in that sense what had been drilled/beaten into him was hard to just let go and ignore.

Reeve had never had a relationship with anyone; he had deemed himself far too sinful for that; even now with this second chance he was confused as to why, after all he;d killed his father in cold blood at the tender age of ten...why should he be granted this gift when others deserved it more? He snapped out of his thoughts a bit at the others words and chuckled softly "I won't" He promised, he shifted back up to shore a bit, though his lower half was still submerged in water, and wrung out his pants before leaving them on the hot sands to dry.

Once they were almost dry, he made sure Maria turned around while he slipped out of the water; using his cloak as a makeshift towel he dried himself down as best he could before pulling his pants back on quickly.

Maria shouted out towards them stating she was going to travel further up steam. She was surveying the land and spotted an area covered in bamboo shoots. She smiled running up to them and kicking one of them free. "This will do nicely" She swung it in the air holding it firmly. She could not help herself as she reminisced about her prized cutlass she owned when she was alive. It was a powerful weapon, that cut down all of her foes. She then looked at the boiling water that was the river and leaned down pressing her lips against the water she winced and backed away quickly. "So hot..." She then dipped her hand down into the water and then pulled some water back up, blowing on it and sipping slowly.

She then lifted some more water up and splashed her face with it soaking her hair. She figured because she was up stream taking a bath wouldn't be too much of an issue for her. She couldn't really see Reeve and Reid anyway so she took of her clothes and slowly stepped in. She submerged herself completely once and then came back up afterwards. She rubbed away at her skin in an attempt get any sand off her from earlier. She had a wonderful idea and swam over to the bamboo sticks, she ducked her head underneath the water and opened her eyes. She was extremely surprised to see the volcanic activity at the bottom. Originally she had intended to just used dirt to clog one end of the bamboo stick, but instead she took one stick and jammed into the cooling lava, cause the rock to lodge itself inside of the bamboo stick while under water. She then swam back up to surface smiling as she took had made herself a portable water source, Along with that she had acquired a bamboo staff.

She climbed out of the water deeming herself clean and then began to rest on some rocks, while her clothes were suspended on the bamboo she had found earlier. As she sat there naked, the earth began to shake again, this time it was more violent then it had ever been before and it lasted for several several seconds. Maria was simply clinging to the rock she was resting on trying her best not to get harmed in anyway.

Reid stayed in the water longer than Reeve and let himself soak, scrubbing his scalp to wash his hair. He eventually got out and turned away from Reeve, letting himself drip dry while he tried to see if Maria was okay upstream. After a while he decided he was dry enough and put his clothes back on. He found a place near the wall of the canyon that wasn't very sandy and sat down, leaning his back against the wall and closing his eyes. The warm water had woken him up and he wasn't too tired anymore, but his eyes felt heavy nonetheless.

Once Reeve was clean and dry and Reid was out of the water he decided it was probably best to explore the area; his first assumptions about being able to just stay here and set up camp were false; it was just too risky even if they did have a valid source of water; he hoped they would at least find somewhere a little cooler to stay nearby. He deicide to wait until Maria returned before he went off on his own, he didn't want to leave Reid defenceless, especially when he hadn't even tapped into his powers yet. "You should try and find out what your powers are" he suggested to the other while they waited "I mean me and Maria's cane instinctually to us, it might work for you too if you can figure out what your power might be"

Maria was panicking for a few more moments as the earth shook, as the quakes settled she was still frantic. She quickly grabbed her clothes throwing them back on. She went back down stream still frantic, holding her bamboo canteen in he arms. "Did any of you feel that" She shouted. The earth then began to shake all over once more, and the rocks from the cliff began to roll down hill. Maria's first thought was to get herself to safety, so she teleported to the other side of the river. The earth shook again and a lava geyser burst from the river. "I think its erupting!" More lava geysers exploded as the river began to spread apart at a faster rate. The water became beyond boiling temperature and the water bed became covered in hot rocks and lava.

"Easier said than done." During the night while everyone else was asleep Reid had though a lot about his power and what it could have been, and concluded he had no idea at all. He looked over his shoulder when he heard Maria's voice and saw her running towards them. Suddenly the earth began to shake and rocks fell, Reid moved away from the wall and towards the river in case a rock fell on him and a geyser exploded from under the river and he could feel the heat rising quickly. He stood at the edge of the water and noticed a shadow growing around him, he snapped his head upwards to see boulder falling on him. His body suddenly seemed to condense and get smaller while his skin turned black and feathers erupted from underneath it. Within seconds he had morphed into a crow and flown out from under the rock. He flew over next to Reeve and flapped his wings around, surprised on what had happened. It was more of an accident than anything.

Reeve felt the ground shake as they were talking and at first he ignored it but when it became more frequent he began to get worried and had a bade feeling settle in his gut; getting to his feet he grabbed his stuff before he tried to avoid the geysers as they exploded with steam and hot water, when the other changed into a bit he just gaped for a moment before he snapped himself out of it "GO! Just go!" He called to Reid as he ran to the edge of the river before he did a running jump and tried to leap over the river.

He partially succeeded, but one of his feet ended up landing in the boiling hot water, letting out a yelp of pan he scrambled away from the water and caught up to Maria limping heavily as he tried not to put too much weight on his badly burned foot as he walked across the hot sands; he as not ashamed to admit he was in agony and he had tears welling up in his eyes as he kept moving; better to be burned than dead.

Reid, still in his bird form, stayed by Reeve's side, watching for falling rocks or anything else that could hurt them, but couldn't do anything about his foot. When Reeve caught up to Maria he flew up a little higher to see if there was any kind of safe area nearby, the earth was trembling more than they thought and the only place he could see that wasn't moving was quite a ways off in the distance. He flew back down quickly and stayed with Maria and Reeve. He had no clue how he morphed in the first place and even less of an idea on how to change back.

Maria instantly ran to Reid aid, helping him get out of the water as soon as possible, but careful of herself not to be pulled into the water herself. She had realized that if any of them had stayed in the water just a tad bit longer they all could have probably died. The quakes had begun to settle, but maria was still suffering from the aftermath of it all. She had felt slightly dizzy and the thought of food did occur to her once more.

The earthquakes eventually came to a stand still, as the rocks were rolling into the river. Maria leaned down to take a look at Reeves foot, curious to know if it was going to be ok or not. "Why couldn't he have given us shoes..." She thought as she began to rip off her sleeves to her clothes in an attempt to soothe the pain a little bit. She then wrapped his foot in her torn sleeve. Taking her other sleeve she looked into the tree live and sighed. "We need food... Reid needs sleep... and Reeve has a burnt foot. It is also clear that we need to relocate because the quakes here are frequent" She thought to herself as the conclusion came to her that she was to do what was needed for now. "I am going to go look for another place to set up camp, and attempt to go hunting... I personally feel you both are in no place to really be helping me in your current conditions... so for the love of god.... rest... and heal... I want you to actually go to sleep Reid... especially after just now discovering your power... and from now on we will trade 2 hours of sleep and 1 hour of keeping watch" She clutched her bamboo staff and gave them a hard stare. She wanted to make sure that these two things happened because they would need to move soon, and she didnt want to be stuck in a bad area.

When the shaking began to settle Reid perched himself next to Reeve and Maria and changed back, growing bigger and the feathers shedding away. He looked at Maria like she was crazy when she told him to sleep and groaned when he turned his head. His muscles ached, all of them, as if the day before he had run a hundred miles. He put his hand against his neck and decided to keep his pain a secret. "Ill sleep, but only until you find somewhere for us to go." He gave in and sat next to the injured Reeve. "Does your foot hurt?" It was obvious it did, but he was trying to make any kind of normal conversation.

Reeve hissed in pain as Maria wrapped up his foot once they were safely away from the earthquakes and the tremors, the burns didn't look too severe so it would probably be fine with enough rest. While Maria had a good point he was weary about letting her go alone but seen as he was out of commission and Ried was exhausted they didn't have much of a choice between the three of them so he nodded and gave her a weary smile.

"Alright you have a point, just be careful and if you get into trouble you come back here okay?" He said to her, they couldn't just stay by the river right now , there was was a low hanging ledge, only a few feet off the ground on the cliff they had teleported down that would act as a decent enough shelter until the moved on and so he pointed it out "We can rest there, its off the ground and has shade from the sun" He said "We'll meet up there, and I'll keep a watch out, if we end up having to move again I guess finding higher ground might be our safest bet all things considered" He said softly as he watched her leave; he did hope she'd be alright on her own; true she was resourceful and willing to get her hands dirty but she was just one girl against goodness knows what out there.

Reeve got to his feet slowly, Maria's bindings helped ease pressure a bit but it still hurt a lot to walk "Yeah, stings a lot, but it could have been worse" He said with a weak smile to the other "Come on, sooner we head to that small ledge the sooner e can both rest" He said as he gathered up his things and began walking "So..you can shift into birds huh? That's pretty useful...think you could shift into other things as well?" He asked the other curiously trying to distract himself from the pain more then anything.

Reid stood after Reeve, putting the older's arm around his shoulder to help him walk. His muscles still ached with every motion but he didn't let it show, focusing on helping Reeve walk. "I don't know….I don't even know how I changed like that, I saw the rock and then…" His voice trailed off as he thought about it. "And as soon as the immediate danger was gone I just changed back. I might not be able to do it at will." He hoped Maria would be okay, but he knew she was strong, stronger than him at least, and could take care of herself.

Maria nodded, "Ok then I will be back as soon as I find anything" She smiled anxious to see just how far she could push her teleportation abilities. This indeed was one of the best uses as she did not have to pull multiple people with her. She teleported away in multitudes of jumps. One after the other, they were each a close distance from each other but Maria would widen the leap after each jump. She kept moving at a pace that was slow and steady but thanks to her jumps she covered a lot of distance. While she was teleporting she was slowly unthreading her other sleeve to use a source of strings. She was prepared to go hunting, and this was simple as she was a great hunter.

She spotted a pig off in the distance it seemed normal enough, she teleported off in the distance and appeared right above the pig. She grinned holding a single string in a choke like fashion. She then jumped down from the tree branches and lunged at the pig grabbing a string and wrapping it around one of the pigs feet. She then pulled it in a way that cause the string to cut into the pigs skin and muscle. This would cause a blood trail that would make it easier to hunt the pig. What she did not know was that it was telling all of the pigs natural predators of its location. A loud roar could be heard in the distance as some trees shook and loud stomping foot steps could be heard as a larger beast approached.
